First, supplier of transfer media printing blankets, Day International, is to increase prices across its portfolio. The company, which is a division of the Flint Group, cites continued challenges caused by the Covid-19 pandemic, cost increases across the global supply chain, and cost impacts due to staff shortages. Chad Holzer, business president for Image Transfer Technologies says these are unprecedented challenges.

Next, two Lincolnshire-based companies have been fined after an employee sustained life-changing injuries to his left hand. Postpack and Damasco UK both pleaded guilty to breaching regulations, as did machine supplier, DIG Corrugated Machinery. The worker caught his left hand in the main rotating roller of a flat-bed die cutting machine, leading to the amputation of his fingers and thumb.

Now, wide-format print company, The Vinyl Guys, is getting ready to open the doors to its purpose-built Print Business Growth Centre. The centre has been created to support small or start-up wide-format print, signage, and graphics companies. We spoke to Alex Liggett, owner of The Vinyl Guys about what we can expect to see from the centre, and how businesses can get involved.

And finally, Quality Print Services has been announced as the official UK distributor for ColorJet’s range of UV flat-bed and soft signage printers in the UK. The agreement covers the Verve LED, Verve Hybrid, Vulcan RTR, SoftJet Plus and SoftJet Grand models. ColorJet says the partnership reiterates its focus on widening its presence across key markets and describes the partnership as a major milestone.
