Omicron variant of Covid-19 dominating headlines through December, the government has continued to ask businesses to momentarily work from home to help stop the spread of the virus. Commenting on the situation, Rob Thurston of Duplo UK says: “It is a challenging time for print, but we’ve seen both staff and customers rise to the occasion”.

Next, Packaging Online has brought attention to shocking UK waste statistics, during the festive period. The company recommends avoiding items like polystyrene, plastic film, tape, and glitter, in exchange for sustainable alternatives. The company says: “If everyone recycles correctly, the UK’s gifting date waste will decrease by as much as 374,000 tonnes”.

Now, with nearly 250 days to go until The Print Show 2022, spaces for the event are quickly filling up. Taking place from September 20th to 22nd at the NEC in Birmingham, the show will include the Diversification Zone, the Business Seminar Theatre, and the popular celebrity speaker feature. To find out how the event is shaping up we spoke to Adam Every, sales manager of The Print Show.

And finally, US-based print company, Printful, has made big strides in its mission to expand profits and support small businesses. The company hit a new milestone by achieving over £700m in gross merchandise value after the festive sales period, meaning it has now sold over 40 million items. This coincides with the company’s recently opened UK fulfilment centre in Wolverhampton.
