conference run by Creative Digital Industries, the BPIF, and BOSS, brought together the supply, digital and print industries. The Visual Media Conference was a hybrid programme of virtual and live-streamed sessions looking at the key challenges facing print and wide-format companies. The sessions focused on sustainability, retail solutions, and how companies can work digitally.

Next, Documents solutions specialist, Kyocera, has warned against a rise in ransomware attacks to businesses. Having produced printers with a range of security features, Kyocera is no stranger to the security and software sectors. The company warns businesses not to lose sight of the basics of hardware and software and advises examining and fully auditing all devices.

Now, founded in 1960, Tamarind Institute in New Mexico is believed to be the only school for collaborative lithographic printing in the world. We spoke to lithographic printer, Stephanie Turnbull, about her experience at Tamarind, her career in print since, and how workshops can help grow the trade in the UK.

And finally, freight and logistical issues are causing more price hikes within the print industry. Global provider of specialty chemicals, Archroma, will be increasing the prices of its entire product range by up to 19p per kilogram. The company’s chief operating officer Marcos Furrer says that although efforts have been made to absorb the increases, the move is necessary to be able to maintain service levels.
