First, print logistics company, IES, is celebrating 30 years of operations this year. The company was founded in 1991 and has grown to employ over 70 members of staff. Reflecting on the anniversary, Niels Morch co-founder and managing director of IES describes the past 30 years as an adventure. The news follows a positive end to the 2020/21 financial year for the company.
Next, HP has joined forces with the Ocean Decade Exhibition as its official printing partner. The exhibition, which was created by The Ocean Agency, aims to highlight the importance of our ocean and inspire action. HP will produce the art using water-based inks and HP Latex printers, as the technology allows the company to stay true to its dedication to sustainable business practices.
Now, as we emerge from lockdown into a new normal, the focus on sustainability is only growing. In part two of our interview with paper and packaging company, Antalis, Chris Green, director of visual communications, tells us about some of the ways companies can make the move to be greener. He also reflects on whether companies are currently doing enough to help the environment.
And finally, the Independent Print Industries Association has revealed a 5% rise in membership despite a challenging year. IPIA chairman, Graeme Smith, says the uncertainty caused by the unfolding pandemic has seen the need for trade associations grow more now than ever. This December, the association will hold its first in-person event since before Covid-19.
